Key points

  1. Seven groups share Geely’s distribution in France as of late April 2026: Como (8 sites), Maurin (7 announced), Auto Réal Group, Baldassari Automobiles and Elypse Autos (3 each), BYmyCAR (2) and Select Auto (1)
  2. None of these groups covers two regions, so the best Geely dealer is the one in your area rather than the largest in the country
  3. Prices are not up for discussion from one site to the next: the importer sets the catalogue from €20,990 to €41,990 and leasing rates from €366 to €439 per month
  4. The thing to check before signing is not the showroom but the workshop: several addresses open as display space only, with servicing handled elsewhere

Comparison of Geely networks in France in 2026

Geely Auto France operates no outlets of its own. The brand, launched in late April 2026, handed distribution to seven established automotive groups, confirmed in successive waves. The table below compares them on what can be objectively verified: signed sites, area covered and the group’s prior experience.

The table settles one question straight away. Comparing Como and Select Auto has no practical bearing on a purchase, since their territories do not overlap. Ranking by size measures how solid a partner is, not the quality of service thirty kilometres from home.

The group’s profile, however, is comparable. Elypse Autos already operated Volvo, Polestar and Lynk & Co, three brands held by the same shareholder as Geely. Diagnostic tools, mechanic training and parts logistics partly rest on shared foundations. Como applies the standards of Mercedes-Benz, smart and Lexus, with around 500 staff and in the region of 8,500 vehicles delivered per year.

Why the choice of distributor matters more for a newly arrived brand

With an established brand, switching dealer is a formality: there is another one twenty minutes away. With Geely in 2026, the nearest alternative is sometimes in another region.

That asymmetry moves the goalposts. Price stops being the sorting criterion, since the importer sets it. What remains negotiable or variable comes down to three things: the trade-in value of the old car, the accessories included and the delivery lead time, which depends on production allocations granted site by site.

Geely has nonetheless locked down part of the risk by contract. Thomas Léonard, commercial and network development director at Geely Auto France, sets out the first requirement:

“We ask distributors to open an exclusive showroom of at least 250 sq m and to assign a dedicated salesperson.”

Thomas Léonard, Geely Auto France, quoted by Journal Auto, April 2026

Exclusivity goes beyond showroom fit-out: sharing a site with BYD, MG or Chery is banned. The manufacturer also left Volvo distributors off its list of priority partners, even though shared ownership might have put them at the front of the queue.

That requirement for 250 sq m of dedicated space has a downside, though. Fitting out an exclusive space takes months, so several addresses start as showrooms alone, with the workshop following later. For a service or a warranty repair, the workshop address is what counts, not the showroom’s. That is the question to ask before signing anything, and it rarely features in opening announcements.

The seven groups distributing Geely

Como is the largest of the seven, with eight addresses across Greater Paris: Paris 12th, Paris 17th, Colombes, Fontenay-sous-Bois, Stains, Vélizy, Port Marly and Pontoise. No other distributor operates in the region, making it a special case within the network. The group lists its prices and offers on new Geely models across all its sites. Its premium positioning is nothing new, as shown by its long-running rivalry with another multi-brand group in the Mercedes segment, covered in our comparison of Como and BYmyCAR as Mercedes dealers.

The Maurin group arrived in June 2026 with seven Geely dealerships announced for the year, which will place it second in the network. The cities involved have not been made public to date.

Auto Réal Group holds the South West from Bordeaux, Toulouse and Perpignan. The spacing between the three cities matters: 250 kilometres separate the first two, which limits the value of comparing their respective stock.

Along the Mediterranean, Baldassari Automobiles covers Marseille, Toulon and Fréjus, while BYmyCAR adds Villeneuve-Loubet and Le Cannet. Five Geely sites are therefore concentrated between Bouches-du-Rhône and Alpes-Maritimes, the highest density in the country after Greater Paris.

Elypse Autos covers the Grand Est with Mulhouse, Belfort and Épinal, three cities within a 130-kilometre radius. Select Auto runs a single site in La Rochelle, with no fallback should a car be off the road for a long spell.

Three regions still had no confirmed distributor as of mid-2026: Normandy, Brittany and Centre-Val de Loire. The September and late-2026 opening waves are meant to address that.

The four criteria that separate Geely dealers

Whether there is a workshop on site. This is the most decisive criterion and the least visible. A showroom without a workshop sends servicing to another site in the group, which can mean tens of kilometres for every scheduled service. The question goes straight to the salesperson, and the answer rarely appears on the distributor’s website.

The number of demonstration cars. Over the first months of operation, one or two units per model per dealership is the norm. That governs how long the wait is to drive a Starray EM-i or an E5, two cars whose interior and road manners are hard to judge from a spec sheet. Benchmarks for real-world electric car range are in any case more useful than a homologation figure when choosing between the two powertrains.

The group’s experience in the segment. A distributor used to premium brands, or to brands from the same shareholder, applies reception standards and workshop lead times that are already running smoothly. Generalist multi-brand groups start further back on technical training, though that says nothing about the quality of their sales service.

Trade-in terms. Since list prices and leasing rates are set by the importer, from €366 to €419 per month for the Starray EM-i and €399 to €439 for the E5 on long-term lease, the value placed on the old car becomes the main negotiating lever. A launch offer at €299 per month circulated at the start, with a deposit of 10% on the Starray and 13% on the E5, financing arranged through CA Auto Bank and Drivalia.

On value for money, the Geely range is mainly measured against other Chinese manufacturers in the segment, ground already mapped by models such as the BYD Seal against the Tesla Model 3 and by the cheapest electric cars on the market.

How the network will change by 2028

The current coverage is a transitional state. The schedule communicated by the brand is precise and fast:

MilestoneGeely outlets
End of June 2026around thirty
September 202650
End of 202670
2027120
2028170
2030200

Behind those numbers sits a commercial target: 6,000 registrations in the first year, then 1% market share in 2027, 2% in 2028 and 5% in 2030, roughly 80,000 vehicles a year in a French market of 1.6 million units. The catalogue is meant to follow the same pace, covering 90% of segments by the end of 2027 against three models today.

Two practical consequences for a 2026 buyer. In regions already served, the distributor chosen now will be the one whose mechanics have two or three years’ head start on the rest. In regions still empty, waiting for a local site to open costs less than accepting 300 kilometres for every workshop visit, all the more so as the manufacturer warranty runs for 8 years or 200,000 km with three years of assistance, a duration that makes the distance to the workshop a structural concern.

Frequently asked questions

Which is the best Geely dealer in France?

No group covers the whole country, so the best Geely dealer is a regional matter. Como leads on the number of sites with eight addresses in the Greater Paris area, ahead of the Maurin group and its seven dealerships announced for 2026, then Auto Réal Group, Baldassari Automobiles and Elypse Autos with three sites each, BYmyCAR with two and Select Auto with one. Elypse Autos has the strongest technical profile, having already operated Volvo, Polestar and Lynk & Co, three brands owned by the same shareholder as Geely. List prices and the 8-year or 200,000 km warranty are set by the importer and do not vary between distributors.

Does Geely sell its cars directly in France?

No. Geely Auto France has handed its entire distribution to seven independent automotive groups, with no company-owned outlets and no direct online sales. Each distributor must open an exclusive showroom of at least 250 sq m, assign a salesperson dedicated to the brand, and forgo displaying BYD, MG or Chery at the same site.

How many Geely dealerships are there in France in 2026?

The network counted around thirty outlets at the end of June 2026. The brand has announced 50 sites in September 2026, 70 by year end, 120 in 2027, 170 in 2028 and 200 by 2030. That pace supports a target of 6,000 registrations in the first year and 5% market share by 2030, roughly 80,000 vehicles per year.

What are the risks of buying from a dealer of a brand that has just arrived?

Two points deserve checking before signing. The first is the workshop: several sites open as display space first, with servicing handled elsewhere, sometimes tens of kilometres away. The second is the delivery lead time, which depends on the vehicle allocations granted to each site and can vary by several weeks between two dealerships in the same group. Parts logistics, by contrast, are already in place, with a warehouse in northern France and a next-day delivery promise.

Which Geely cars are available in France?

Three models make up the launch range: the EX2 electric city car from €20,990, the Starray EM-i hybrid compact SUV from €34,990 to €38,990, and the E5 electric compact SUV from €37,990 to €41,990. The brand expects to cover 90% of market segments by the end of 2027, which implies around ten additional models within two years.
